How many times have you heard the old line, "Don't sweat the small stuff?"
Well...the consequences of not passing the SAFE Act exam is no "small stuff," but the good news is that if you take the time to prepare and study in advance of your test, you won't need to "sweat the S.A.F.E. stuff" on test day!
To help you get a better understanding of what the testing experience is like, we turned to top producing mortgage professional and MSS Contributing Faculty Member Jodee Brydges. Jodee recently took and passed the SAFE Act exam, and has some great tips to share with you to help you gear up and know what to expect on the day of your test.
Q. What was it like heading in to the testing center on the day of the test?
A. I felt prepared and when I went to take the test we did the "buddy system." A good friend of mine and I actually teamed up and we drove together and kept each other very motivated. When we arrived at the test site, surprisingly the staff there was absolutely fantastic. They were very friendly, extremely happy people they were giving us high fives before we went in, almost greeting us with open arms. I wanted to reach out and hug these guys, they were so great!
Also, what made it fun was seeing other people from our company at the testing center. I knew they were taking the test but I didn't know what time, so it was like a big party. I actually ran into a few people I hadn't seen in a long time.
My nervousness was taken away fairly quickly, because there was just so much great energy that you couldn't help but forget about the nerves. When you first walk in...
